TOUCHSTONE SECTOR(RIMWARD OF THE BEYOND)

HUIN(SUBSECTOR B, AKA TUSCANY, ASLAN NAME: EKTEIU
HUIN subsector was first explored during the 3rd century 3rd Imperium by free traders.  Real colonization started
in the 790's when Aki hault-Huin settled the subsector as a refuge for Dark Goddesses corsairs to hide and retire to
The Huin Cluster (Mim, Rosslyn, Medh, Aabba, & Desire) form a fief of the Huin family separate but still allied
to Dark Goddesses.  The Huin Hierarchy(govt. of the Huin Cluster) has a trade alliance with the Aokhalte
Tlaukhu since the end of the last Aslan war (1076). The Sanctuary Worlds (Shanna'Ree Di, Mashgha, &  Yertys)
form a sanctuary & resort for Dark Goddesses personnel.  Other than the odd indepedent corsair and Aslan raids,
the sector is quiet with DG depending more on trade here.  However the DG dominated worlds are used as bases to
raid worlds outside the Huin subsector.  The worlds of Sadre T'Jaf and Ghajuert are involved in an ongoing
lowlevel war that broke out after Imperial withdrawall from both systems in 1007.  Both worlds treat any vessels
entering their systems as hostile and subject to attack.  The world of Mazdarillian is the fief and sanctuary world of
the Mazdarillian family, descended from Azda Mazdarillian, a Dark Goddesses corsair who settled the world in
774.

SEVERN SUBSECTOR(ASLAN NAME: KYAHIYLEAKHAW)
This subsector was settled 6 centuries before the advent of the 3rd Imperium by colonists from Die
Weltbund.  Their descendants founded the Jyuiert Concordance, which dominates the subsector.  The
Jyuiert have fought 8 successful wars against the Aslan Colonial States between 802-1021.  After the
last war, Thyesvt (2410) was captured from the Aslan and settled as a buffer state under Jyuiert
protection. Jyuiert has a mutual defense pact with the Huin Hierarchy & the Sanctuary Worlds which
has blocked Aslan expansion into the sector.
The sector is currently quiet with the exception of pirates and Aslan raiders.  The Imperium established
ouposts during Paulo's reign to observe Aslan intentions.  Faslktyh (2402) is ruled by an ruthless
techno elite that uses criminals, outcasts, & unwary offworlders as living batteries.

Rull is dominated rimward by the Mapepire Cluster, an confederation of trade & resort worlds. The rest of the subsector
I fleshed out with data from other sites (Zhodani Base in particular) , so I'm listing planets that I created that play a
intregal  part in my campaign.
Harem is dominated by three powers.  The first (from web sources) is the Avalar Consulate.  The second is the Ros
Confederation, a pocket empire of lost Darrian colonies & post-Rule of Man humaniti colonists formed in 357 to
defend against the Avalars & pirates.  The third, more recently is Die Weltbund.  Bromisia Lines enter Rull at
Ileiket (0807) and exit  via Dreamers' World (0107).  The Ros Confederation & Die Weltbund have a mutual
defense treaty. Dreamers' World is rumored to have a secret device curing insanity much like Shrine in the Beyond
The Darrian Confederation has reopened contact with its former colony worlds just prior to the 5th Frontier War &
has a commercial & alliance treaty with the Ros Confederation..Darrian colonists have been arriving in RC since
1110.
HUIN HIERARCHY
Founded in the 790's when Aki Huin settled colonists on
Medh, Rosslyn, Desire, & Aaba.  Mim was settled in 923.  
The population is 3.6 billion (30% aslan, 50% humaniti,
5% nasedran, 5% poicxh, 10% other).  Highest TL is C on
Desire. The Hierarchy has firm alliances with the Sanctuary
Worlds, the Aokhalte Tlaukhu. Mazdarillian, Aeserteys, &
the Jyuiert Concordance, Webrunners, Zydarian
Codominium, & The Araniopan League.  Dark Goddesses,
the older sister to the HH operates legitimate trade within the
Hierarchy's borders. Many DG personnel come  to the
Hierarchy to retire. The Imperium maintains an embassy &
Intelligence post on Desire. The HH has in the past turned
down  membership in the Comsentient Alliance. The
Hierarchy is neutral in the Sred'Ni/Aslan disputes. The
IDES is not welcome in the HH & operates only covertly.  
The HH has frequent border  clashes with Seieakh stemming
partly from the Hiearchy's alliance with Aokhalte & raiders
operating out of Hierarchy space.  The Hierarchy is also a
magnet for Aslan outcasts.
Founded as  a feudal state by Aki Huin, the Hierarchy has developed a decided Aslan due to their long co-existence
with the Hierate colonists & it's colonization by Aslan outcasts.  Though the senatorial families have become Aslan
influenced, they still maintain a openness & willingness to cooperate more akin to the state's humaniti founders.
The government's is a matriarchy overseen by a Hierarch who is a descendant of Aki Roxanne Huin.  The reason for the
Hierarchy's female domination is more psychological than sexists: all females in government service undergo the
Serenity machine to remove any mental weakness or insanity.  Still there are many male senators & other
government/military  officers (the Guardians of Serenity on Shrine can screen out mentally deficient males) & males
are treated as equals.  The senate palace (which includes the Hierarch's rooms) is guarded by a 4000 strong Senatorial
Guard made of Nasedran & Aslan warriors.   Additional security is given by Huin's Brigade, a mobile high tech grav
unit made up of 6 Brigades, of which 5 are kept inside the Hierarchy while 1 is rotated into the Beyond sector as a merc
brigade. There is no scout service, as that is handled by HIS (Hierarchical Intellgence Service). Naval strength is made
up a mobile force of 1 Batron (4 60,000 tonne battleships) with their escorts & support craft; 5 Batrons of Battleriders (4
ships each, converted metal asteroids), 1 each to each system for system defense; A Patrol force based of 16 squadrons of
patrol cruisers (600-1000 tonnes) & 22 squadrons of SDB's (200-600 tonnes).
Furthermore, the vessels of Dark Goddesses are considered within Hierarchy space units of the Hiearchy Naval Reserve.
Though tough on piracy, the Hierarchy is a haven for corsairs & practices raiding outside their own space, especially in
privateering against & for Aslan clans. Along with raiding, a healthy commercial trade is carried (via Dark Goddesses,
Webrunners & Aokhalte clan vessels) throughout the Vanguard Reaches, The Beyond, & the Aslan colonial states. The
Aakho colony inside the HH cooperates well with the government, but refused senatorial status on traditional grounds
& instead maintains an embassy at the Senate to oversee their interests.
Dueling holds an honored place among the Hierarchy citizens similar to the Aslan (without the gender restrictions),
though rarely is a duel fought to the death.  Conflicts with neighboring states are also settled in the ritual Aslan
manner. Aslan dress is also popular with many of the citizens; as is the more rakish attire worn by Dark Goddesses
personnel.  It is a tradition still maintained today by senatorial families(except Nasedran) to apprentice in the Dark
Goddesses for at least one term.  Many adventurous male citizens join either Huin's Brigade or Webrunners.

Though the senatorial families control the government & economy, they have a great tradition of serving their
followers, in the tradition of their corsair forebearers.  Also in cases of major laws or decisions, the senate holds
plebiscites to determine public opinion. In this tradition, trials (those not settled by duel) are tried by a jury of 24 of the
citizenry. Judges are also selected by the senate outside the senatorial ranks.  As a reward for great public service, a
citizen may be granted senatorial status.  About a quarter of the senatorial families were created thus.
